Abstract
Bone augmentation procedures are a fundamental component of modern dental implantology, aimed at addressing insufficient bone volume required for optimal implant placement. This review discusses contemporary techniques and materials used in bone augmentation, including guided bone regeneration (GBR), sinus lift procedures, alveolar ridge augmentation, and various grafting materials.
The analysis covers biomaterial selection, surgical protocols, success rates, and the management of complications, based on recent clinical data. A significant proportion of dental implant candidates require some form of bone augmentation; therefore, understanding these procedures is essential for achieving predictable long-term outcomes.
Recent advances in biomaterials, minimally invasive techniques, and regenerative technologies continue to improve the predictability and success of these interventions.
